There were not three scientists who landed on the moon, but three astronauts. They were:

* Neil Armstrong

* Buzz Aldrin

* Michael Collins

While Armstrong and Aldrin were the first humans to walk on the moon, Collins piloted the command module in lunar orbit while they were on the surface. All three were astronauts, not scientists, although they had received specialized training for their mission.
