  • Giant Stars: Types, Characteristics, and Classification
There isn't one specific name for all giant stars. Instead, we classify giant stars based on their size, temperature, and luminosity. Here are some common categories:

    * Red Giants: These are cool, large stars that have exhausted the hydrogen fuel in their core and have expanded significantly.

    * Blue Giants: These are hot, bright stars that are much larger than our Sun. They are still fusing hydrogen in their cores, but at a much faster rate.

    * Supergiants: These are the largest stars, even larger than giants. They can be red, blue, or yellow depending on their temperature.

So, while there isn't a single name for all giant stars, these categories help astronomers classify them based on their characteristics.
