  • Space Dogs: Exploring the History of Canines in Space Exploration
There has never been a dog who landed on the moon with an astronaut. While the Soviet Union did send dogs into space before humans, none of them landed on the moon.

The most famous space dogs were Laika, the first living creature to orbit Earth, and Belka and Strelka, who orbited Earth and returned safely. These missions were crucial steps in understanding the effects of spaceflight on living organisms and paved the way for human spaceflight.
