  • Planetary Orbits: How Long Does Each Planet Take to Orbit the Sun?
    There are actually only 8 planets in our solar system. Pluto was reclassified as a dwarf planet in 2006.

    Here's how long it takes each of the 8 planets to orbit the Sun:

    * Mercury: 88 Earth days

    * Venus: 225 Earth days

    * Earth: 365.25 Earth days

    * Mars: 687 Earth days

    * Jupiter: 11.86 Earth years

    * Saturn: 29.46 Earth years

    * Uranus: 84 Earth years

    * Neptune: 165 Earth years

    As you can see, the further a planet is from the Sun, the longer its orbital period (the time it takes to complete one orbit).
