  • Capricornus Constellation: Right Ascension & Declination Explained
    Constellations don't have a single right ascension and declination because they are large areas of the sky containing many stars.

    Instead of a single point, you can find the following information about Capricornus:

    * Approximate Right Ascension: 21 hours

    * Approximate Declination: -20 degrees

    To be more precise, you can look at individual stars within Capricornus:

    * Alpha Capricorni (Algedi): Right Ascension 20h 16m 33s, Declination -14° 37' 15"

    * Beta Capricorni (Dabih): Right Ascension 20h 14m 13s, Declination -15° 24' 34"

    Keep in mind that these are just the coordinates of some of the brightest stars in Capricornus. The constellation itself spans a much larger area of the sky.
