    The core of Mars is thought to be made of:

    * Solid Inner Core: Scientists believe Mars has a solid inner core with a radius of around 1,790 km.

    * Liquid Outer Core: Surrounding the solid inner core is a liquid outer core extending to a radius of around 1,830 km. This core is much smaller than Earth's.

    * Weak Magnetic Field: Mars has a very weak magnetic field, likely due to the slow rotation of its core and its relatively small size. This leads to a lack of protection from the solar wind.

    Surface Composition:

    The surface of Mars is primarily composed of:

    * Basalt: A dark-colored volcanic rock, similar to the common rock type found on Earth's ocean floor.

    * Iron Oxides: These give Mars its characteristic reddish color. Hematite (Fe2O3) and goethite (FeOOH) are the dominant iron oxides.

    * Silicates: Minerals containing silicon and oxygen, including quartz, feldspar, and olivine.

    * Carbon Dioxide (CO2): This gas makes up a significant portion of the Martian atmosphere and is also found in the form of frozen ice at the poles.

    * Water Ice (H2O): Ice exists beneath the surface and in some polar regions.

    * Dust: Fine particles of rock and minerals cover the surface, giving it a dusty appearance.

    Key Features:

    * Volcanoes: Mars has the largest volcanoes in the solar system, including Olympus Mons.

    * Canyons: Valles Marineris is a massive canyon system that stretches across the surface.

    * Impact Craters: The surface is heavily cratered, evidence of past impacts.

    * Polar Ice Caps: Mars has permanent ice caps at its poles, composed of water ice and frozen carbon dioxide.
