Here's why:
* Size: The Sun is about 109 times wider than Earth. While that sounds huge, there are many stars vastly larger. For example, the red supergiant Betelgeuse is about 900 times the Sun's diameter.
* Mass: The Sun is about 333,000 times more massive than Earth. But again, there are stars much more massive. For example, the star R136a1 is about 265 times the Sun's mass.
* Luminosity: The Sun is brighter than most stars, but there are many stars significantly brighter.
While the Sun is not a large star in the grand scheme of the universe, it's still a very important star to us!
