Here's why:
* The Sun is a star. Our solar system is centered around the Sun, which is a star.
* Stars are independent. Stars are massive balls of hot gas that generate their own light and heat through nuclear fusion. They exist in vast spaces, often light-years apart, and are not gravitationally bound to each other in the way planets are to a star.
* Gravity and orbits: Planets orbit stars because the star's gravity pulls them into a curved path. Stars, however, are far too massive and distant to have a significant gravitational influence on each other.
Instead of revolving around the Sun, stars are part of larger structures called galaxies. Our Sun is one star in the Milky Way galaxy, and there are billions of other stars in the galaxy, all orbiting the galaxy's center.
