Planets orbit stars.
Here's why:
* Gravity: Stars are much, much larger and more massive than planets. This means they have a stronger gravitational pull.
* Center of Mass: The center of gravity (or center of mass) of a system like our solar system is much closer to the Sun's center than to any planet's center. Think of it like a seesaw - the heavier side is always closer to the fulcrum.
* Orbital Motion: The planets are constantly "falling" towards the Sun due to its gravity, but their sideways motion keeps them in a circular or elliptical path around the Sun.
So, while the planets orbit the Sun, they actually both orbit around a common center of mass. However, because the Sun is so much heavier, that center of mass is extremely close to the Sun's center.
