  • Jupiter's Moons & Rings: What You Need to Know
Jupiter has 79 confirmed moons, which are sometimes referred to as "rings" in a colloquial sense. However, it's crucial to distinguish between moons and rings as distinct astronomical features:

    * Moons are celestial bodies that orbit a planet. They are usually much larger than the planet's rings.

    * Rings are thin, flat disks of dust and other small particles that orbit a planet.

Jupiter actually does have rings, but they are very faint and much smaller than its moons. They are made up of dust particles and are not as prominent as the rings of Saturn.

So, while Jupiter has 79 confirmed moons, it also has a system of faint rings.
