  • Starch Composition: Elements from the Sun & Earth
    Starch is made up of only three elements: carbon (C), hydrogen (H), and oxygen (O).

    While the Sun is primarily composed of hydrogen and helium, those elements aren't directly incorporated into starch. Starch is formed through photosynthesis in plants, where carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere and water (H2O) from the ground are combined using energy from sunlight.

    Therefore, the elements in starch come from Earth's atmosphere and water, not directly from the Sun.
