  • William Huggins: Pioneer of Stellar Spectroscopy
The first person to successfully attach a spectroscope to a telescope to study the spectrum of stars was William Huggins, an English astronomer. He did this in 1862.

Huggins' work was groundbreaking. He discovered that stars were made up of the same elements as the Sun, and he was able to identify the presence of hydrogen in the spectra of stars. His work laid the foundation for modern astrophysics and helped to revolutionize our understanding of the universe.
