  • Understanding Electromagnetic Spectrum: Frequency of Light vs. Infrared
    The light that has a lower frequency than infrared radiation is microwave radiation.

    Here's why:

    * Electromagnetic Spectrum: Light exists on a spectrum with various types of radiation, categorized by their frequency (and wavelength).

    * Frequency and Energy: Higher frequency light has more energy.

    * Order of the Spectrum (Increasing Frequency):

    * Radio waves

    * Microwaves

    * Infrared radiation

    * Visible light

    * Ultraviolet radiation

    * X-rays

    * Gamma rays

    Since microwaves are located *before* infrared radiation on this spectrum, they have a lower frequency.
