  • Southernmost Northern Lights Sighting: Where & When?
The southernmost point where a recorded sighting of the Northern Lights has occurred is the Caribbean.

While rare, it's not entirely unheard of. In 2013, there were reports of auroras seen from Cuba and Puerto Rico following a particularly strong solar storm.

These sightings are extremely rare, though, because they require exceptionally strong geomagnetic storms to reach such low latitudes. Typically, auroras are seen further north, like in Canada, Alaska, Greenland, Iceland, Scandinavia, and Russia.
