  • Milky Way vs. Neptune: Which is Closer to Earth?
This question is a bit tricky! Here's why:

    * The Milky Way is our galaxy. We are inside the Milky Way. Earth, Neptune, and all the other planets in our solar system are within the Milky Way.

    * Distance within a galaxy is vast. The Milky Way is about 100,000 light-years across.

    * Neptune is relatively close. Neptune is the farthest planet from the Sun in our solar system, but it's still within a tiny fraction of the Milky Way's diameter.

So, the answer is no. Neptune is much closer to Earth than the edge of the Milky Way.

Think of it this way: Imagine the Milky Way as a giant city, and our solar system is a small neighborhood within that city. Neptune is just a short walk from our house in that neighborhood, while the edge of the city is much, much farther away.
