  • VV Cephei: A Binary Star System Explained - Red & Blue Giants
VV Cephei is a binary star system, not a planet. It consists of two stars:

    * VV Cephei A: A red supergiant star, one of the largest known stars in the Milky Way.

    * VV Cephei B: A blue supergiant star.

The system is known for its eclipsing nature, where the smaller but brighter blue supergiant periodically passes in front of the larger red supergiant, causing a significant dip in the system's overall brightness.
