  • The Sun's Core: How Light is Produced Through Nuclear Fusion
The light from the sun is produced in its core.

    Here's how it works:

    * Nuclear Fusion: The sun's core is incredibly hot and dense. This intense pressure and heat cause hydrogen atoms to fuse together to form helium.

    * Energy Release: This fusion process releases a tremendous amount of energy in the form of light and heat.

    * Radiation and Convection: The energy from the core then travels outward through the sun's layers, first through radiation and then convection, eventually reaching the surface and radiating out into space.

So, while we see the light from the sun's surface, the actual source of that light is the nuclear fusion happening deep within its core.
