  • Venus: Understanding Its Opaque Atmosphere and Extreme Conditions
The planet with an opaque atmosphere is Venus.

    Here's why:

    * Thick Atmosphere: Venus has a very dense atmosphere, primarily composed of carbon dioxide (CO2) with thick clouds of sulfuric acid.

    * Greenhouse Effect: The CO2 in Venus' atmosphere traps heat, creating an intense greenhouse effect. This results in surface temperatures hot enough to melt lead.

    * Opaque to Visible Light: The thick clouds of sulfuric acid reflect and absorb most of the visible light from the sun, making it impossible to see the surface of Venus from space.

While other planets like Jupiter and Saturn have atmospheres, they are not opaque to visible light. We can see through their atmospheres and observe their cloud patterns and features.
