  • Closest Planet to the Sun: Understanding Astronomical Distances
    There's no planet that's 2.7 light-hours from the Sun. Here's why:

    * Light-hours are a vast distance. A light-hour is the distance light travels in one hour, which is approximately 186,282 miles per second.

    * Planets in our solar system are much closer to the Sun. The furthest planet from the Sun is Neptune, which is about 4.3 light-hours away.

    * Other star systems are much further away. Even the closest star systems to our own are many light-years away, meaning light takes years to travel between them.
