  • Lunar Composition: What Earth Substance is Missing on the Moon?
The common earth substance not found on the moon is liquid water.

While there is evidence of water ice in permanently shadowed craters at the lunar poles, there is no liquid water on the surface of the moon. This is because the moon has a very thin atmosphere, which means there is no pressure to keep water in a liquid state.
