Pluto has three moons that were known in the year 2000:

* Charon (discovered in 1978)

* Nix (discovered in 2005)

* Hydra (discovered in 2005)

While Pluto now has five moons, Nix and Hydra were not discovered until 2005, well after the year 2000.
