  • Charles Darwin: Religious Background & Path to Evolution
Charles Darwin was not a priest.

He studied to become an Anglican clergyman at Cambridge University but never actually became one. After graduating, he embarked on a five-year voyage around the world on the HMS Beagle, which ultimately shaped his groundbreaking theories on evolution.

While his family was devoutly religious, Darwin's own faith shifted over time. He did not reject religion outright but found himself questioning traditional interpretations of the Bible after his scientific discoveries.
