    When you see a specimen clearly down a microscope, it is in focus.

    Here's why:

    * Focus is the state where the image of the specimen is sharp and clear. This is achieved by adjusting the distance between the objective lens and the specimen using the focus knobs on the microscope.

    * Out of focus means the image is blurry or indistinct.
