  • Meteors: Origin, Composition, and Earth's Atmospheric Entry
Meteors are not located in a specific place in the solar system. They are actually the small particles of rock and dust that enter the Earth's atmosphere from space.

    Here's how it works:

    * Origin: Most meteors come from asteroids (rocky bodies between Mars and Jupiter) and comets (icy bodies from the outer solar system).

    * Debris: These bodies leave trails of debris as they orbit the Sun.

    * Earth's Path: When Earth encounters these debris trails, the particles enter our atmosphere at high speed.

    * Burning Up: Friction with the air causes the particles to heat up and burn, creating the bright streak of light we call a meteor.

So, rather than being in a specific location, meteors exist as debris scattered throughout the solar system along the paths of asteroids and comets.
