Saturn is the sixth planet from the sun. It is probably best known for the characteristic rings that encircle the large, gaseous planet. These rings make it one of the most recognizable and popular planets in the solar system. If you are making a model of Saturn, you will have to include the rings. Making rings for a model of Saturn does not have to require extensive work.
Turn a compact disc so that the side with the lettering is facing down.
Apply concentric circles of glue onto the CD with a paintbrush.
Sprinkle glitter over the CD so that it sticks to the glue. Wait for the glue to dry.
Apply more concentric circles of glue on the CD with the paintbrush.
Sprinkle another color of glitter onto the CD so that the glitter sticks to the glue.
Take your model of Saturn, which should be a sphere cut in half, and glue the pieces onto each side of the CD so that it looks as if the CD is intersecting a ball.
If you do not have a CD, you can substitute a paper plate. You can trim the paper plate down to size with scissors or you can use a larger sphere for the planet.
