  • Venus: Earth's Sister Planet - Size, Composition & History
The planet Venus is often called Earth's "sister planet".

    Here's why:

    * Similar Size and Mass: Venus is very close in size and mass to Earth.

    * Rocky Composition: Both planets are rocky planets, unlike the gas giants like Jupiter and Saturn.

    * Early Similar Conditions: It's believed that Venus may have once been more Earth-like, with oceans and a potentially habitable climate.

However, Venus is vastly different from Earth today:

    * Extremely Hot: Its thick atmosphere traps heat, making it the hottest planet in our solar system.

    * Toxic Atmosphere: It has a dense, poisonous atmosphere of carbon dioxide.

    * No Liquid Water: The surface is too hot for liquid water to exist.

So, while Venus is Earth's "sister" in some ways, it's a very different and hostile world.
