  • Dwarf Planets of Our Solar System: A Comprehensive Guide
The International Astronomical Union (IAU) currently recognizes five dwarf planets in our solar system:

    1. Ceres: The largest object in the asteroid belt, located between Mars and Jupiter.

    2. Pluto: The most famous dwarf planet, formerly considered the ninth planet, located in the Kuiper Belt beyond Neptune.

    3. Eris: A trans-Neptunian object, larger than Pluto, located in the scattered disc beyond the Kuiper Belt.

    4. Makemake: Another trans-Neptunian object, located in the Kuiper Belt.

    5. Haumea: A very elongated trans-Neptunian object, located in the Kuiper Belt.

It's important to note that this list is not exhaustive, and there are likely many more dwarf planets waiting to be discovered in our solar system. The IAU continues to evaluate potential candidates and may add to this list in the future.
