  • South Africa's Space Program: Satellites & International Collaboration
South Africa currently does not have any satellites in space that are solely owned and operated by the country.

    However, South Africa has:

    * Participated in international collaborations: It has contributed to and benefited from satellite missions launched by other countries, such as the European Space Agency's (ESA) Sentinel program.

    * Developed and launched small satellites: South African universities and companies have developed and launched small satellites for research and educational purposes.

Therefore, while not owning any satellites independently, South Africa is actively involved in the space sector through collaboration and development.
