  • Evening Star: Is It a Star or a Planet? - Space Facts
The Evening Star is not actually a star. It's a planet! Specifically, it's the planet Venus.

    Here's why:

    * Planets reflect light: Planets don't produce their own light. Instead, they reflect sunlight, making them appear bright in the sky.

    * Venus's position: Venus is the closest planet to Earth and orbits the Sun faster than our planet. Because of its orbital position, it's often visible in the evening sky, earning it the name "Evening Star."

So, while we call it a "star," it's actually our neighboring planet shining brightly in the evening sky!
