  • Understanding Sea Breezes: What Causes Morning Coastal Winds?
Shortly after daybreak at the seashore, you'll likely experience a sea breeze.

    Here's why:

    * Land heats up faster than water: During the night, the land cools down faster than the ocean. This creates a temperature difference between the land and the sea.

    * Air pressure gradient: The cooler air over the ocean is denser and has higher pressure than the warmer air over the land. This creates a pressure gradient, pushing air from the high-pressure area (ocean) towards the low-pressure area (land).

    * Sea breeze: The resulting wind blowing from the sea towards the land is called a sea breeze.

So, shortly after daybreak, you'll likely feel a cool, refreshing breeze coming off the water!
