  • Indigo in the Visible Spectrum: A Clear Explanation
    Indigo is still very much a part of the visible spectrum!

    There seems to be a misunderstanding. The visible spectrum consists of seven colours:

    * Red

    * Orange

    * Yellow

    * Green

    * Blue

    * Indigo

    * Violet

    The idea that indigo is no longer part of the visible spectrum is likely stemming from a misconception about Sir Isaac Newton's work on the spectrum. He originally identified seven colours in the spectrum, drawing a parallel between the colours and the seven notes in a musical scale. However, later, scientists and artists recognized that indigo and violet are very similar colours and sometimes overlap, making it difficult to clearly distinguish between them.

    Therefore, while indigo is still a real colour and part of the visible spectrum, it is often not specifically mentioned in modern scientific discussions as it is considered a shade of violet.

    So, rest assured, indigo is still there, waiting to be appreciated in its full glory! 😊
