  • Canis Major Dwarf Galaxy: Our Solar System's Nearest Galactic Neighbor
The nearest galaxy to our solar system is the Canis Major Dwarf Galaxy. It's a small, faint galaxy that is about 25,000 light-years from Earth.

However, it's important to note that the Andromeda Galaxy (M31) is often considered the closest major galaxy to our Milky Way. While it is farther away at 2.5 million light-years, it's significantly larger and brighter, making it much easier to observe.
