  • Venus Day vs. Year: Understanding Venus's Rotation and Orbit
That statement is incorrect! A day on Venus is actually longer than its year.

    Here's why:

    * Venus rotates incredibly slowly: Venus takes about 243 Earth days to complete one rotation on its axis. This is what we consider a day on Venus.

    * Venus orbits the Sun quickly: It takes Venus 225 Earth days to complete one orbit around the Sun. This is what we consider a year on Venus.

Therefore, a day on Venus is almost twice as long as a year on Venus!

It's easy to get confused as the terms "day" and "year" are generally associated with Earth's experiences.
