  • Sunlight and Color Absorption: Understanding Heat & Dark Colors
The sun is not attracted to dark colors. In fact, the sun does not have any preferences for any particular color. The only thing that affects how the sun interacts with different colors is the amount of light that is absorbed by the color. Dark colors absorb more light than light colors, which means that they can get hotter in the sun.
