  • Planetary Rotation: Exploring Venus and Uranus' Unique Spins
The planets that spin differently compared to most planets in our solar system are Venus and Uranus.

    1. Venus: Venus has an exceptionally slow rotation. One Venusian day lasts approximately 243 Earth days. Although most planets rotate counterclockwise as seen from above their north poles, Venus spins in the opposite direction, a motion described as retrograde rotation.

    2. Uranus: Uranus undergoes an axial tilt. The planet rotates on its axis, but its axis of rotation is shifted by about 98 degrees away from the perpendicular to its orbital plane. As a result, Uranus appears to "roll" around the Sun as it orbits, leading to unusual seasonal variations throughout its year.
