  • Stars and the Sun: Understanding Celestial Motion
The Sun is a star. All the stars that we can see in the sky are separate suns like our own, located at vast distances from the Earth. They appear to move around the North Star (Polaris) because the Earth is rotating on its axis. The Sun doesn't move for an Earth observer, except for moving across the sky throughout the day due to the Earth's rotation.
