  • Mars Exploration: A List of Rovers and Robots
Here is the list of rovers and robots that have explore Mars:

    1. Sojourner - Sent by NASA as part of the Mars Pathfinder mission, Sojourner was the first rover to successfully land on Mars in 1997.

    2. Opportunity - Launched in 2003, Opportunity was active for 15 years and covered over 28 kilometers of Martian terrain, sending back valuable scientific data.

    3. Spirit - Launched with Opportunity in 2003, Spirit landed in Gusev Crater and operated until 2010, making important discoveries about Mars' geology and past climate.

    4. Curiosity - This car-sized rover was launched in 2012 and landed in Gale Crater in 2013. Curiosity is still actively exploring Mars and has made significant contributions to our understanding of the planet's geology and history.

    5. InSight - Launched in 2018, InSight is a stationary lander designed to study the interior of Mars and listen for marsquakes. It has provided important insights into the planet's core, crust, and mantle.

    6. Perseverance - Perseverance rovers landed in Jezero Crater in February 2021. It is equipped with advanced instruments for exploring the planet's geology, collecting samples, and searching for signs of past microbial life.

    7. Tianwen-1 - This Chinese mission successfully reached Mars in 2021, deploying both the Tianwen-1 orbiter and the Zhurong rover. Zhurong has been conducting scientific investigations on the Martian surface.

    8. Mangalyaan - The Indian Space Research Organization's Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM), also known as Mangalyaan, was launched in 2013 and reached Mars' orbit in 2014. It continue to provide valuable observations and data about the Martian atmosphere, surface features, and climate.
