    For example, if you have two stars of the same distance from Earth, but one is twice as large as the other, the larger star will appear four times brighter. This is because the larger star has four times the surface area and can therefore emit four times more light.

    Combining Distance and Size:

    The apparent brightness of a star is determined by both its distance and size. A star that is both large and close to Earth will appear brighter than a star that is small and far away.

    This is why some stars that are actually quite large may appear dimmer than smaller stars. For example, the star Betelgeuse in the constellation Orion is one of the largest stars known, but it is not as bright as many smaller stars because it is so far away.
