  • Spacecraft Temperatures: Understanding Extreme Heat & Cold in Space
It can be, yes. Because there is nothing in space to help reflect or contain heat, spaceships tend to experience extreme temperature.

When orbiting close to planets like Earth, spaceships tend to encounter temperatures similar to ours. But for spacecraft venturing far out into deep space or towards the outer planets of our solar system, heat from other planets becomes increasingly less influential, thus the need for spacesuits designed to counter harsh temperatures ranging from extreme heats of up to a hundred degrees celsius to excruciating cold at around -270C
