  • Why Jupiter and Mars Can't Collide: A Solar System Perspective
It is physically impossible for Jupiter to hit Mars. Jupiter is located in the outer solar system, while Mars is located in the inner solar system. Jupiter is over 5 times the distance from the Sun as Mars. There is no known trajectory that would allow Jupiter to leave its orbit and collide with Mars.
