    The name of the spacecraft that took the first men to the moon is Apollo 11. Apollo 11 was the first manned mission to land on the Moon. It was launched on July 16, 1969, from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, United States. The crew consisted of Commander Neil Armstrong, Command Module Pilot Michael Collins, and Lunar Module Pilot Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin. Armstrong and Aldrin became the first humans to set foot on the Moon on July 20, 1969.
