  • Understanding Radio Waves: Why We Can't See Them
    Radio waves are a type of electromagnetic radiation, just like visible light, ultraviolet light, and microwaves. However, radio waves have much longer wavelengths than visible light, so we cannot see them with our eyes. The human eye can only see light with wavelengths between about 400 nanometers and 700 nanometers. Radio waves have wavelengths that are much longer than this, ranging from about 1 millimeter to hundreds of kilometers.

    To detect radio waves, we need to use special equipment, such as radio antennas. Radio antennas convert radio waves into electrical signals that can be processed and interpreted by electronic devices.
