  • What Are Clouds Made Of? Understanding Cloud Formation
Clouds are not evaporated water in the form of a gas. Clouds are made up of tiny droplets of water or crystals of ice suspended in the atmosphere. The process of evaporation turns liquid water into water vapour, which is a gas. Clouds form when water vapour condenses into tiny droplets or ice crystals, which then scatter and reflect sunlight, making them visible to us.
