2. Incandescent light bulbs produce white light by heating a filament until it glows. The filament emits light in a broad spectrum of colors, which can be seen as a yellowish-white light.
3. Fluorescent light bulbs produce white light by using an electrical current to excite mercury atoms in a fluorescent tube. The excited atoms emit ultraviolet light, which is then converted into visible light by a phosphor coating on the inside of the tube. Fluorescent light bulbs can produce a variety of colors of white light, from cool white to warm white.
