  • Einstein's Revolutionary Contributions to Physics: Special & General Relativity
    Special relativity: Einstein's theory of special relativity, published in 1905, revolutionized our understanding of space and time. It showed that space and time are not absolute, but are relative to the observer. This theory has many implications, such as the fact that time can slow down for objects moving at high speeds, and that objects cannot move faster than the speed of light.

    General relativity: Einstein's theory of general relativity, published in 1915, is a theory of gravity. It showed that gravity is not a force, but is instead a curvature of space-time. This theory has many implications, such as the fact that light can bend around massive objects, and that black holes can exist.

    Photoelectric effect: Einstein's explanation of the photoelectric effect, published in 1905, showed that light is made up of discrete packets of energy, called photons. This theory laid the foundation for quantum mechanics.

    Bose–Einstein condensate: In 1924, Einstein and Satyendra Nath Bose predicted the existence of a new state of matter, called a Bose–Einstein condensate. This state of matter occurs when a large number of particles are cooled to very low temperatures, and all of the particles occupy the same quantum state. Bose–Einstein condensates have many potential applications, such as in atom interferometry and quantum computing.

    Quantum entanglement: In 1935, Einstein, Boris Podolsky, and Nathan Rosen published a paper that argued that quantum mechanics is incomplete. This paper, known as the EPR paradox, led to the development of the theory of quantum entanglement. Quantum entanglement is a phenomenon in which two or more particles are linked in such a way that the state of one particle is instantly affected by the state of the other, even if they are separated by a large distance.
