  • Water Sublimation: Understanding the Process & Conditions
Sublimation is the process where a solid turns directly into a vapor. Water, under standard conditions, will change from a liquid into a vapor through the process of evaporation; however, under conditions where the temperature is below freezing (0°C) and the air is extremely dry (low humidity), water can sublime into water vapor. This process is common in cold environments such as polar regions or high mountaintops.
