  • Lunar Atmosphere: What's the Air Like on the Moon?
Yes, but extremely thin! The Moon does have a tenuous atmosphere composed of gases such as argon, neon, hydrogen, helium, methane, carbon dioxide, and potassium in trace amounts. However, its atmospheric pressure is about one trillionth (10⁻¹²) of Earth's atmospheric pressure at sea level. Due to this extreme scarcity of molecules, the lunar atmosphere exhibits no significant weather patterns or phenomena and has a negligible effect on surface conditions.
