To apply, candidates must meet the following basic qualifications:
* Be a citizen of the United States.
* Have a bachelor's degree in engineering, biological science, physical science, or mathematics from an accredited institution.
* Have at least 1,000 hours of pilot-in-command time in jet aircraft.
* Be in excellent physical condition and meet NASA's height and weight requirements.
* Be able to pass NASA's physical, medical, and psychological tests.
