The Milky Way galaxy contains hundreds of billions of stars, and many of these stars have planets orbiting them. However, the exact number of planets in the galaxy is unknown. Astronomers have discovered thousands of planets outside our solar system, but these are just a small fraction of the total number of planets that are thought to exist. It is estimated that there could be as many as 1 trillion planets in the Milky Way galaxy.
