  • NASA's Artemis Program: A Gateway to Future Astronaut Missions
The Artemis program is not the last mission for NASA astronauts. NASA has several active astronaut missions and future mission schedules beyond the Artemis program. The Artemis program is the first lunar mission led by humans since the Apollo program in the 1970s and is focused on establishing a sustained presence on the Moon by landing the first woman and the next man on the lunar surface by 2025. NASA already has a plan for future missions under Artemis through the year 2030 and aims to continue lunar exploration through international and commercial collaborations while advancing scientific discoveries and expanding capabilities in spaceflight to ultimately enable a journey to Mars. As technology continues to advance and space technology emerges, we can expect NASA and human space exploration to expand further.
